BCAC Goals for 2010-11:
1. Provide the Junior Achievement program:
- Provide financial and administrative support in training for the 3rd -4th
grade Junior Achievement program; Jr. Hi & High School
- Provide a volunteer opportunity for business employees (50+) to teach 4th
grade students (potential for 90 classrooms)
- Provide school/business collaboration and links www.centralohio.ja.org
Encourage participation in “Biz Town” at 5th grade
2. Provide a Career Fair:
- Assist all Licking County 9th graders (about 2,300 + annually, including
Newark Catholic) with career exploration
- Showcase business job opportunities (over 130 careers each year)
- Link with Denison Univ. for career fair site at Mitchell Fieldhouse
- 15th Annual Career Fair - November 23, 2010 at Denison University
- Students collect info for Individual Academic Career Plan (IACP)
- Collaborating with leadership from C-TEC www.c-tec.edu
3. Provide an Education/Business Forum(s):
- Sponsor “Forum(s)” including Chamber “Ed After Hours”
- Co-Sponsor an Education / Workforce Summit –September, 2010
- Sponsor a CEO/Superintendent luncheon to share ideas 2010-11
4. Provide opportunities for HS Student(s) to attend/participate in BCAC meetings.
5. Provide a “STEP” program:
- Summer Teacher Externship Program (at least one teacher per district,
11-01, 13-02, 17-03 & 04, 20-05, 21-06, 17-07, 10-08, 0-09, 8-2010
- Teachers invited to STEP into the world of business
- Education to Life by forming teacher/business partnerships
- Prepare students for workplace competencies
6. Provide a web link:
- Link Licking County ESC website to area business websites

STEP
- Link with the Licking County Area Chamber
