Adult Education Career Planning & Placement Instructor for 2017-18 School Year - This is a part-time, 20 hours per week position in the Adult Education Department.  To be successful in this position, the candidate should be able to help students to do the following:  To expand knowledge of general vocabulary words;  to select important content to include in class notes; to increase comprehension and retention of subject matter from textbooks and other class materials; to adjust reading rate according to determined purpose for reading and level of comprehension needed;  to critically assess the value of information; to formulate a systematic individualized study plan integrating skills, strategies, and techniques taught and practiced during the course;  to learn strategies to improve performance on objective, performance, and hands-on tests; to apply vocabulary comprehension, and critical thinking skills to real-life applications.  If selected to interview for this position, the candidate will be asked to present the following:  Demonstrate knowledge of learning styles, how to read a textbook, hot to take classroom notes, and test taking strategies/overcoming test anxiety.  Start date is January 3,  2018.  Deadline to apply is November 17, 2017.  Resumes may be e-mailed to [email protected].





Secretary (211 Days)- Must have high school diploma or training and experience that are considered equivalent.  Excellent communication and customer service skills are desired as well as a good working knowledge of all office equipment and office operations.  Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, accurate and timely completion of work, and ability to work well with others are all highly desired.  Strong knowledge of DASL/SIS/EMIS would be a plus.  Will be expected to assist in the effective and efficient operation of the building office. Start date will be January 29, 2018.  Interested and qualified candidates should apply in writing to Stacey Stein, Principal, Lakewood High School, 9931 Lancer Rd.
