What is Project SEARCH LMHS?

What is Project SEARCH?

Project SEARCH is a unique business-led, one-year, school-to-work, transition program that takes place entirely at a host business site. This project enables young adults with disabilities to gain and maintain employment through training and career exploration.

Candidate Interns will participate in 3 rotations year round. The rotations will allow them to gain employability skills, target skills in high need areas, work on building their resume, and much more. Candidate Interns report to their hospital managers, job coaches and teacher through their day.

There are over 300 Project SEARCH programs in 39 states in the US and 32 in four international countries. With 38 local sites, Ohio has the largest number of Project SEARCH sites of any state. Licking County is the newest site. Our inaugural year is the 2016-2017 school year.

Project SEARCH LMHS is open to all students who have met the following criteria:

- A student enrolled in a Licking County High School (The student MUST be enrolled and attending their home district during their Senior year of school.)

- Are on an IEP and have a disability that is seen as barrier to obtaining full time employment after graduation
